Another GREAT event!!!! 7:05am on a Saturday morning, a lone biker stood in the parking lot of the Hopewell Moose Lodge Family Center, wondering if anyone was going to show? As the cool temperature warmed and the sun rose, here came the rumble of a classic muscle car, then another and another and finally another motorcycle. THEY CAME! to The Hopewell Moose Lodge First Annual Car & Bike Show! We had it all! The hope was to have at least 20 cars, truck and motorcycles to attend, 50 was a dream and ultimately 67 entrees participated in what I hope we continue as an annual event. We had old, we had new, we had cars, trucks & bikes. We had US and foreign built rides. This was a great time for all. The proud owners sat around and admired each others rides, swapped stories and compared notes. All while participating in this wonderful fundraiser to support our US Military and their families through Ft Lee's Holiday Helpers. THANK YOU, ALL.
This wouldn't have been possible without our host, The Southern Knight Cruisers and help from the Hopewell Moose Legion for serving lunch, Colonial Heights WOTM for serving breakfast, John Hall DJ'd and MC'd all day & organizations such as Survivors4U and the River City Bombshells for providing assistance and additional fundraising efforts.
What a way to wrap up our 60th anniversary of The Hopewell Moose Lodge Family Center 1472, doing what we do so well by empowering our community to help our community. I am so thankful to have been a part of this wonderful opportunity to give a little back to those who give so much. Through the registration fees, vendor's fees, individual donors and the generosity of The Hopewell Moose Lodge Family Center, at the Hopewell Moose Lodge General Meeting on June 16, 2016 we were able to present a check to Ft Lee's Holiday Helpers. The Southern Knight Cruisers raised $1,947 and the Board of Officer of the Hopewell Moose added to the total in order to make an even $3,000. Click on images for larger pictures.
