Lodge Leadership / House Committee Training at Staunton 1635

Staunton Lodge #1635 will be hosting a Lodge Leadership/House Committee training session on Sunday May 6, 2018.


This 1-day interactive, instructor facilitated course is designed to meet both the general needs of the Lodge leaders and Committee Chairman as well as the needs of the Social Quarters Manager The course will help participants understand how those in a position of Lodge leadership work together to meet the overall needs of the Lodge and the Social Quarters. The instruction and materials are divided into two parts, one specific to Lodge leadership and the other to the House Committee.


This class has been designed primarily for Lodge Board of Officers, Committee Chairmen, and Social Quarters Manager. This class may also benefit Audit Committee members, clerical support staff and any active Moose member who is interested in learning more about Lodge and House Committee operations.


Check-in will start at 8:30 am and class will be from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. In order to attend this class, you must register by April 16, 2018.


To register please email secretary@virginiamoose.org. Include in your email your name, Moose ID Number, Lodge, lodge position and email address. You will receive an email serving as your certificate of attendance and receipt via email.


Cost of training is $25.00 and made payable to VMA earmarked Training.

Lynchburg Moose Lodge #715 will be hosting a Lodge Leadership/House Committee training onSaturday May 12, 2018.

LOOM 2 Day HOTT Class at Bedford 1897
Saturday and Sunday, June 9th and 10th 2018

Bedford Moose Lodge #1897 will be hosting a LOOM ONLY 2-day HOTT (Hands-On Technical Training) Class on Saturday and Sunday, June 9th and 10th 2018

This 2-day hands-on technical training course teaches Fraternal Units how to work within the QuickBooks, LCL.net and Moose Admin programs. This instructor-led class consists of a combination of instructor lecture and demonstration. After learning the "how," "when," and "why" behind the necessary QuickBooks, LCL and Admin Menu functions, students will have an opportunity to practice
what they have learned as they work through a training database.

Pre-registration is required. To register please email secretary@virginiamoose.org. Include in your email your name, Moose ID Number, Lodge, lodge position and email address. You will receive an email serving as your certificate of attendance and receipt via email. Registration must be completed and received no later than May 25, 2018.

The $40 registration fee needs to be paid the first day of class. All checks should be made payable to the
Virginia Moose Association.

Class will be limited to 6 and will be scheduled first come first serve.

The class runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. These will be full days of instruction and laptops will
be provided.

NOTICE: Any Lodge that would like to sponsor a LOOM Only 2 Day HOTT session are asked to contact VMA LOOM State Trainer Robbie Robertson at secretary@virginiamoose.org. Any Chapter that would like to sponsor a WOTM Only 2 Day HOTT session are asked to contact VMA WOTM State Trainer Denise Clauson at sds575@yahoo.com or dshaw@moosetrainers.org. The classes are on Saturday and Sunday and start at 8:00am and usually finish by 5:00pm.

Administrator School at Bedford 1897 June 22-24, 2018

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 22th, 23rd and 24th 2018.

Bedford Moose Lodge #1897 will be hosting an Administrator School on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 22th, 23rd and 24th 2018.

This 3-day hands-on, instructor facilitated course begins with an overview of the Administrator's detailed task responsibilities and the supporting resources available to help Administrators complete those tasks. From there, students are provided an opportunity to practice daily Administrator tasks using a simulated QuickBooks company. Finally, students will perform interactive individual and group exercises to recognize how the Administrator's role can contribute to successful operations of the Social Quarters, and in turn, increase member retention.

This class has been designed primarily for Lodge Administrators and supporting clerical staff. This class may also benefit other Lodge Officers, Audit Committee Members or any other active members that are interested in learning more about the role of the Administrator.

Prior to attending this class, participants will need to complete a 2-HOTT course. You must have prior knowledge of, and experience with, LCL and QuickBooks operations within the Moose environment. Basic LCL and QuickBooks operations will NOT be re-taught in this class.
